Loretta Fulvio, RID, IIDA, has joined HOK as a principal and director of interiors, leading the firm’s global Sports + Recreation + Entertainment practice. With nearly 30 years of experience, she has led the interior design of some of the country’s most significant sports and entertainment facilities.
“Loretta’s leadership in elevating the design of sports venues and transforming the fan experience has had a significant impact on our profession,” said Nate Appleman, director of HOK’s Sports + Recreation + Entertainment practice. “She has an uncanny ability to anticipate trends and collaborates with professional sports and collegiate athletics clients and their partners to generate new revenue opportunities.”
Fulvio began her career at HOK as an intern and was hired following graduation. She worked for the firm for nearly two decades in offices in the U.S., U.K., Mexico and Asia Pacific.
While at other firms, Fulvio led teams for national and international projects including Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas; SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles; U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis; and AT&T Stadium in Dallas. She also has led the interior design of renovations at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.; Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey; American Airlines Center in Dallas; Texas Christian University’s Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas; Louisiana State University’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; interiors of The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida; and various projects for the Houston Airport System.

Fulvio is a frequent speaker and author and is involved in International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the Texas Association for Interior Design (TAID). Sports Business Journal named her a 2019 Power Player for her leadership in facility design. She has also led product research and development, creating furniture, textiles, custom accessories, branding and graphics for clients.
HOK’s Sports + Entertainment practice specializes in the design of arenas, stadiums, ballparks, training facilities and entertainment centers. The group plans and designs world-class sports complexes that are centerpieces of successful, vibrant entertainment districts, communities and campuses.
Current and recent projects include the Footprint Center modernization in Phoenix; Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the State Farm Arena renovation in Atlanta; a new Major League Soccer stadium in St. Louis; the Calgary Event Centre in Calgary, Alberta; NewcastleGateshead Quays in Gateshead, England; Casal España Arena de València in Valencia, Spain; Rogers Place and the Ice District in Edmonton, Alberta; Little Caesars Arena in Detroit; and the renovation of Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
