Daktronics to provide LED video displays for new Tottenham Hotspur stadium

While the final pieces are starting to fall into place for English soccer club Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium the design continues to push boundaries of innovation after the English Premier League team announced its video setup will comprise more than 10,700ft² of displays including two façade and three tiers of ribbon displays.

It will be the first time three sets of LED ribbon displays will be featured inside a UK stadium, with the upper and middle tier ribbons measuring 1,269ft and 1,141ft respectively, running from east to west through the north stand. A suite tier ribbon display split into two will also feature along the east and west stands.

Elsewhere in the stadium two displays supplied by Daktronics will be installed at the south end encompassing 1,066ft² of screen space, as well as two north end displays and two additional displays in the south west and south east.

“We have pushed [Daktronics] to deliver something that will truly set us apart and these installations will play a significant role as part of our commitment to setting a new standard in fan experience in sports and entertainment,” said Matthew Collecott, director of operations, Tottenham Hotspur.

When the venue is slated to be completed by the start of the 2018-19 EPL season, fans at the 62,062-seat stadium will experience variable content zoning, which divides the display into multiple windows to be able to show any combination of live action, replays, stats, data or sponsorship messages.

“The video displays and LED technology in this stadium is sure to create an amazing atmosphere for fans and players alike. We’re excited to see the stadium open later this year,” said Reece Kurtenbach, Daktronics president and CEO.
