Nippert Stadium set for new audio and visual upgrades

As part of a multi-phase project to upgrade the audio and video offering at the University of Cincinnati’s Nippert Stadium, a brand-new sound system is set to be installed.

Work has already begun on reinforcing the stadium’s structure to accommodate a new LED display four-times larger than the current board, and over the coming months the venue will see the installation of the new audio system, which will be integrated into the current video and scoring system. It is said to deliver greater clarity and full-range sound production during games, enhancing the experience for the 40,000 fans in attendance.

“This is all being done as a commitment to our fan experience,” said Mike Bohn, director of athletics. “We are thrilled to be able to listen to our fans and address a significant void in our game-day presentation. We had a small window last year to accomplish the video board project and we always intended for this to be the next step in that process. We are excited about the new sound system to debut at UC and FC Cincinnati events this year.”

The AV upgrade comes following a substantial US$86m renovation and expansion project in 2015, which overhauled the third-oldest NCAA FBS stadium.
