Arena Seating has announced that it has installed more than 6,000 demountable grandstand seats into Saracens Rugby Club’s new Allianz Park.
Arena’s contract was one element of the club’s £24m development to create a state-of-the-art multi-functional stadium facility with artificial pitch and running track. The initial three-year arrangement provides Saracens RFC with the ability to extend the flexibility of the stadium capacity and move the seats off the running track during closed season to reinstate the running track capability. Arena supported the club by designing and installing three very different grandstands that complimented Saracens permanent facilities, incorporating a unique service agreement. More than 4,500 temporary demountable grandstand seats have welcomed sell-out crowds across the North, West and South Stands of the park.
The East stand builds on Arena’s Olympic legacy, with the club purchasing 1,584 of the company’s new clearview system, married seamlessley into the front of the permanent main stand and bringing the stand over the running track to locate the crowd at the pitch side.
The West permanent stand has been similarly extended with 2,322 of Arena’s rental temporary uncovered grandstand seating. This stock returns to Arena’s summer rental stock during the company’s peak summer season.
At either end of the pitch are two stand-alone covered grandstands (North and South) located on the running track (capacity 1,092 each). These have also been purchased by the club, but as soon as the rugby season closes, Arena will remove and rebuild the stands at the HAC (Honourable Artillery Company) in central London for Saracens in the City matches on 16 May and 22 August.
